Fibreglaze’s history reaches back to Sydney in 1963, when Lance Smith and Craig Donovan led the family business. The company is now overseen by Craig’s sons — Josh, Ben and Jesse.

Moulded fibreglass shells and fibreglass linings over concrete can look similar, but the supporting construction and laminate condition change the preparation and repair work.
Pebblecrete, Marblesheen and tiles require a bond survey. Sound material may remain; loose, hollow, deteriorated or unsuitable areas are removed and rebuilt.
Paint and vinyl can conceal different substrates. Unsuitable coating is removed as required, while a vinyl liner is removed in full for conversion and inspection.
New concrete starts with construction readiness. Existing commercial pools add facility access, shutdown, markings, operating constraints and return-to-service planning.

The visible finish is only the final layer. The preparation and reinforced system beneath it form the complete resurfacing system.
Every pool is different, but resurfacing generally follows five stages. The final preparation and repair scope is confirmed after the pool is emptied and the existing surface can be properly inspected.
We review the pool details and photographs and arrange an inspection where required. Once emptied, the exposed interior is checked and the final scope is confirmed.
Loose, deteriorated or poorly bonded material is removed. The retained surface is cleaned and mechanically prepared for the repair and lining work that follows.
Identified defects and surface irregularities are treated, rebuilt or levelled as required to create a sound, consistent base.
Fibreglass reinforcement is installed across the prepared pool interior to form one continuous lining, with additional local reinforcement where required.
Two UV-stabilised AquaGuard top coats complete the selected colour and finish. After curing and inspection, guidance is provided for refilling and initial water balancing.
Commercial pools bring operating constraints beyond the pool itself. Fibreglaze works with councils, aquatic centres, schools, resorts, hotels and body corporates to plan resurfacing around access, shutdowns, site interfaces and the existing construction.
